Artifacts in Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl are unique items that ways to improve the parameters of the character. The only problem is that finding them is not as easy as it seems at first glance. You need to know where to look for artifacts and what equipment to use for the search. Here we will look at some important points to consider when hunting for artifacts.
Where to look for artifacts?
Artifacts most often appear in anomalies. On the map they are marked with a question mark, and in the vicinity you can detect their activity with a detector.
Anomalies are divided into several types: thermal, electrical, acid, gravitational and legendary. In each of them you can find artifacts of certain properties, but you should be careful: anomalies are dangerous and can seriously damage your character. Be sure to bolt ahead of yourself to avoid getting into the radiation zone, and use suits that can protect you from radiation when you are going to look for artifacts.
Legendary artifacts are worth highlighting separately. Their location is invariable, and they appear only in strictly defined points of the Zone. They are not only worth more than others, but also have unique effects that can not be replaced by anything else.
How to search for artifacts in Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl using detectors
The main tool for finding artifacts is a detector. It allows you to detect anomalies and artifacts hidden in them. There are several models of detectors in the game. All of them differ in range and sensitivity:
- “Response” is a basic detector with a radius of 50 meters. You get it at the beginning of the game.
- “Bear” and ‘Gilka’ – improve the radius to 100 meters.
- “Veles” – advanced model with maximum accuracy.
Detectors can be obtained by completing the additional quest “For company (Budmo!). In addition, the Detector can be obtained by completing a story quest called “In Search of Gone Glory”, or at the location “Junkyard.”
To search, you just need to take the detector in your hands (open the equipment menu with the TAB key, then press Q) and follow its signals and be ready for unexpected dangers. The device reacts to the artifact with a blue glow and a sound signal. The closer you get to the target, the more intense the device’s reaction becomes.
Other ways to search
In addition to the detector, artifacts can be found in the following ways:
- Exploring locations. During the story and side missions you should look in hard-to-reach places: abandoned buildings, buses, basements. Sometimes artifacts can be found in safes, the opening of which requires a key or code.
- Buying from merchants. There are 27 merchants in the game, and some of them sell artifacts. This is especially true for newcomers who don’t yet have access to good equipment. However, the range is limited and prices can be inflated.
- Quest Rewards. By completing quests, you can get artifacts as rewards. This method is especially useful in the initial stages of the game.
What artifacts to look for for farming?
If you want to make money, you should focus on finding rare and expensive artifacts. The most valuable are legendary specimens, but their limited number requires careful preparation and research.
For a steady income, you can search for thermal and gravity artifacts, which are valued higher than acid and electrical artifacts. For example, “Magma” and “Torch” from thermal anomalies or “Spring” and “Gravi” from gravitational ones have high market value.
How to sell artifacts profitably?
When selling artifacts, it is important to consider who you are offering them to. Bartenders in camps significantly reduce the price, which makes trading with them unprofitable. It is much better to go to armorers who offer a fairer price.
In addition, the price of artifacts can depend on their rarity and the state of the market, so it is better to study the demand in advance and choose the right buyer.
Useful tips
- Use the interactive map to immediately find the nearest anomalies.
- Always save before exploring dangerous areas. This will help to avoid losing the artifacts found.
- Try to combine the properties of artifacts so that they compensate for each other. This will minimize the negative effects.
With the right approach you can not only find rare artifacts, but also use them effectively, gaining advantages in the fight for survival in the Zone.
